Privacy Policy

Next Stop · Updated 4 November 2026

Next Stop is built to work without knowing who you are. There are no accounts, no ads, no analytics and no tracking.

Your location

With your permission, Next Stop uses your location on your device to find nearby bus stops and to place you on the map. Your location is never sent to us.

Bus arrival data

To show arrival times, the app requests data for the bus stops you view from the Land Transport Authority's DataMall service. These requests contain bus stop codes, not your location or identity.

Maps, routes and weather

Map tiles come from OpenFreeMap, bus routes and stops are downloaded from our database, and weather for Next Stop Pro comes from Singapore's National Environment Agency through data.gov.sg. Like any website, these services see the network address of the request and, for map tiles, which part of the map you are viewing. None of these requests include your location or identity.

Live Activities

When you follow a bus as a Live Activity with Next Stop Pro, the app sends our server the Live Activity's push token, the bus stop code, the service number and the time you started following it, so the server can keep the Lock Screen up to date. The app also sends your subscription's App Store transaction so the server can confirm Pro is active; it is checked and not stored. This data is deleted when the Live Activity ends and is never linked to your identity or shared with anyone.

Favourites and settings

Your saved bus stops and preferences stay on your device and may sync between your devices through your own iCloud account. We can't see them.

Purchases

Subscriptions are handled entirely by Apple. We never receive your name, email address or payment details.

Children

Next Stop doesn't knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.
